Jacob Matuska committed to Notre Dame on Wednesday following his weekend visit to South Bend. Matuska fits the "Big Skill" tag that Brian Kelly promotes. Listed on most sites as a Tight End, he can play Defensive End, Tight End or Outside Linebacker. According to several reports, he is being recruited to play Defensive End.
Matuska comes in unranked on Rivals.com, however, is ranked on 247sports.com and Scout.com. According to 247sports.com, he is ranked 159th nationally and the 6th ranked Tight End. Matuska was ranked the 15th best Tight End in Scout.com's rankings.
Jacob Matuska is the 2nd commit in the 2013 class. At this point last year, Notre Dame had the same amount of commitments. The Irish only had one recruit in 2011 and two in 2010. Therefore, historically, Notre Dame is right on pace.
