"Notre-Damus" Recruiting Report: 4/15/2011

The Great "Notre-Damus" looks into the current recruiting situation for Notre Dame including Maty Mauk, Gunner Kiel, Keith Marshall, Bryce Treggs, Ifeadi Odenigbo, Noor Davis, Ronald Darby and Nicky Baratti.

QB
Maty Mauk-BUY
Irish fans have been expecting a commitment from Maty Mauk each time he steps on campus. However, the entire Mauk family has not seen each school that Maty has visited. Expect Maty Mauk to continue to check things out and then select the Irish soon.
Gunner Kiel-SELL
Gunner Kiel knows that Maty Mauk could commit to Notre Dame at any moment, rendering his scholarship null. However, Kiel has jumped the gun and committed. This action states a lot about Kiel's recruitment. Oklahoma is believed to be the leader.

RB
Keith Marshall-SELL
The top RB in the country was supposed to make the trip to the Blue-Gold game, however, those plans have been cancelled. In this situation, with a top-notch recruit from the South, it seems unlikely that they will seriously get back into the battle for Marshall.

WR
Bryce Treggs-HOLD
Treggs makes his first visit to the South Bend this weekend for the Blue-Gold game. Treggs has a great interest in the Notre Dame. If Treggs has a good time, ND will have a very good chance to be in the battle for his signage.

OLB
Ifeadi Odenigbo-BUY
Odenigbo comes from a strong Catholic background and is concerned greatly with academics. It has seemed like a perfect fit from the start. Will Notre Dame be able to hold off in-state power Ohio State? They have a very good shot.
Noor Davis-HOLD
Davis recently stated to ESPN that Notre Dame and Florida would be in his final 5 schools. This is big news for Notre Dame to be in this battle early on. However, Davis is on record as saying that he will not make his decision until January.

CB
Ronald Darby-BUY
Darby appears to be a "Notre Dame Guy". His coach states that he is a "homebody". Will the Irish give him what he wants and let him play corner in college? If so, Darby should really get along with the players at Notre Dame at the Spring Game. This could possibly be the upset commit everyone is looking for. The largest problem is probably what position will he play. Coach Kelly and Coach Diaco may be reluctant to have a corner of Darby's size.

S
Nicky Baratti-BUY
If there is a slam dunk for the Blue-Gold game, this might be it. Baratti will get time to spend around Irish commitments Tee Shepard and Taylor Decker as well as the entire Irish football team. This is probably the most likely commitment for the weekend.
