Commentary: Things Have Changed

Over one month ago, Notre Dame's recruiting seemed dead in the water. Over one month ago, Brian Kelly's coaching hires seemed questionable. Over one month ago, Notre Dame seemed to have no direction as a team. However, as of today, April 1st, Notre Dame has turned completely around.

Last weekend, Notre Dame had arguably one of the best Junior Day's in the programs history. Notre Dame gained commitments from Colin McGovern, Hunter Bivin, Mike McGlinchey, Malik Zaire, Rashad Kinlaw and Corey Robinson. Notre Dame also appears to be in position to land Devin Butler, a 3-star CB from Washington D.C. on Wednesday when he announces. Additionally, Notre Dame leads for Ryan Green, a 4-star RB from Florida.

One of the keys to Notre Dame's resurgence is Harry Hiestand. At the time of his hiring, fans questioned whether he could coach or recruit. Apparently, he can do both. The responses of Notre Dame players has been extremely positive as seen in this video.

He is also learning his players very well.

His personality has rubbed off on recruits. Many recruits have stated that Hiestand coaching style and personality are a major part of the reason they committed to Notre Dame.

Where will Notre Dame be in May?
