It turns out that the rumors about the 6'1'' 185 lbs. CB from Washington D.C. committing to Notre Dame are true. The Gonzaga High School standout committed to the Fighting Irish following his visit to South Bend this past weekend.
At around 10:00 a.m. this morning, Devin Butler tweeted: "I'M COMMITTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME!!! #GOIRISH"
Butler held offers from: Baylor, Boston College, Connecticut, Georgia Tech, Houston, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina, NC State, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Penn St., Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Butler is ranked the 24th best cornerback by Rivals.com and a 3-star prospect.
This is a huge pickup for Notre Dame at a position of a desperate need.
