5 Reasons Not To Worry About Notre Dame

1. ND out-gained USF 508 to 254
A proven way to judge how dominating a performance was is to compare the total yards of each team. Notre Dame absolutely dominated USF in this category by a two-to-one margin.

2. Notre Dame's Run Defense Held USF to 3 yards per carry
A concern (for some) coming into the season was Notre Dame's run defense (especially against a fast, spread attack like USF). Notre Dame held USF to 126 yards on 42 attempts.

3. Tommy Rees threw for 296 yards (in one half)
After Dayne Crist was pulled, Tommy Rees threw for 296 yards in one half (and USF knew what was coming). Rees will be able to direct the offense in the remainder of the season.

4. Michael Floyd had a career-high 12 receptions
Floyd caught 12 passes for 154 yards and 2 TDs. Floyd appeared to be unstoppable in the 2nd half. He will continue to be unstoppable for the rest of the season.

5. Cierre Wood ran for 110 yards (5.0 yards per carry)
Wood looked fast and agile. He had a total of 154 yards. Wood can carry the bulk of the running load for the next 11 games.
