Recruiting Update: Nov. 9 (Cornerback)

The biggest recruiting need this year is the CB position. Following this year, Notre Dame will lose Blanton and Gray to graduation. It is imperative that Notre Dame has a CB class similar to the defensive line class of last year.

For this recruiting update, Irish Sports News will look at the current recruiting in this area. Notre Dame has several commits but they are attempting to add a few more to the fold.

Current Commitments

• Ronald Darby: Darby has the type of speed that was the difference in the game between LSU and Alabama Saturday night in Tuscaloosa. Notre Dame desperately needs this type of difference maker. Darby decided following the Blue-Gold game this Spring. However, Darby has appeared to be one of the least committed recruits in this class. It does appear that if anyone will pull Darby away from Notre Dame, it would be his home state team Maryland. A large margin of victory this weekend would be huge for Notre Dame.
• Tee Shepard: Tee Shepard had a mix up with admissions. It nearly cost Notre Dame this highly touted recruit. However, they are back on track for early enrollment. Expect Shepard this Winter.

Targets

• Brian Poole-Poole visited for the USC game and then compelled fellow Florida commit LaTroy Pittman visit Notre Dame next week. Notre Dame is definitely making a push for Poole but will they be able to pull him?
• Yuri Wright-Notre Dame will most likely get a visit from Wright later this year.
