Recruiting Update: February 24, 2012

Notre Dame landing a big commitment from Davonte Neal over the past week and now recruiting has officially moved on to 2013. After Michigan's big recruiting weekend, Notre Dame looks to regain the momentum with their recent offers and upcoming Junior Days. Here are a few updates on some players Notre Dame looks to make a big splash with in the near future.

Matt Alviti
Alviti was set to make a decision between Notre Dame and Northwestern at any point this month. However, Alviti has backed off of that timetable and will now look at other schools. Recently, Alviti visited Michigan State. In state team, Illinois will try to make a push for the touted prospect.

Malik Zaire
Zaire will visit Notre Dame on March 24th. He recently stated that his top five are Wisconsin, Nebraska, Pitt, Ohio State and Notre Dame. Zaire will make the decision in late March or early April. This coincides with his visit to Notre Dame in late March. Zaire is ranked 136 by Rivals.com and holds an Irish offer.

Ezekiel Elliott
According to multiple outlets, Elliot has picked up an offer from Notre Dame. He already holds offers from Ohio State, Nebraska and Arkansas. Elliot will visit Notre Dame this spring. He visited last fall for the Air Force game.

Steve Elmer
Notre Dame's only commitment in the 2013 class apparently has been in danger of flipping his commitment to either Stanford or Michigan. However, these rumors appear to be somewhat false. Elmer is still talking to teams "just in-case" but is firmly committed to Notre Dame.
