Notre Dame's 2013 Targets: Names to Know

As Notre Dame shifts to 2013 recruiting, recruiting fans and followers will begin to hear new names of prospects that their team is pursuing. Here are some names and comments of prospects to know for 2013.

QB
Matt Alviti-This dual-threat Quarterback from Park Ridge, Illinois will choose between Notre Dame and Northwestern. With Notre Dame signing Gunner Kiel, one of the top prep quarterbacks of 2012, Northwestern would have to be the likely destination here. However, Notre Dame's upcoming Quarterback competition could force the transfer of one of the players. This may play into Alviti's decision.

RB
Ty Issac-One of the most talented Running Backs in the country, Ty Issac, has offers from powerhouses Michigan, Ohio State and Southern Cal. Issac is another prospect from Illinois. He also attends Joliet Catholic. Notre Dame should have an excellent shot at land one of the top prospects in the nation.

TE
Adam Breneman-Breneman is arguably the top Tight End in the nation. Notre Dame has recruited the Tight End position well in the past. Notre Dame will most likely go head to head with Penn State for Breneman's signature next February.

OL
Steve Elmer-Notre Dame picked up the commitment from the best Offensive Tackle in the country on September 17th of last year. Elmer will be critical in bringing in the first few commitments in this class.

DL
Taco Charlton-Charlton fits Notre Dame's system well. He is the former teammate of Eliar Hardy, current Notre Dame Free Safety. Will the two link up at Notre Dame?

LB
Jaylon Smith-This Outside Linebacker from Bishop Luers in Fort Wayne, Indiana is probably a battle between Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State. Notre Dame has had success with Catholic schools in Fort Wayne (i.e. Goodman, Eifert). Will Notre Dame continue that success with Smith?

CB
Eli Woodard-Woodard, a Cornerback from New Jersey, is likely an Ohio State lean at this point in his recruitment. However, with Ohio State already filling up with recruiting sanctions, will Woodard give Notre Dame a look?

S
Su'a Cravens-One of the nation's finest players, Cravens is the impact safety that Notre Dame needs. Cravens has yet to see Notre Dame. Can Notre Dame get Cravens on campus to spark some interest?
