Standifer "Commits" to ND

Anthony Standifer, a 6'1'' 178 lbs. Cornerback from Crete, Illinois, will sign to play football for the University of Notre Dame on February 1st if he completes one requirement. A typical admission requirement of many four year Universities have some type of foreign language requirement.

Standifer does not meet that requirement. But, he still has an opportunity to do so.

Standifer will take an online foreign language class. If he completes this class, he will join Notre Dame on National Signing Day. He has not officially "committed" to Notre Dame. He will need to keep his options open in case this does not work out. But, he intends Notre Dame to be his destination.

Standifer possesses great size, ball skills and instincts. He would fit well into Notre Dame's current defensive system that favors large Cornerbacks. Former Notre Dame Cornerback Robert Blanton would be comparable. However, Standifer is not as polished as Blanton at this point. A concern about Standifer is his speed. He is only reporting a 4.62 40-time.
