Virginia Safety Prospect C.J. Prosise committed to Notre Dame on Thursday evening. He becomes the 8th commitment to the 2012 Notre Dame recruiting class. Prosise had offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Maryland, North Carolina, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
The 6'2" 190 lbs. Safety runs a 4.44-second and runs a 4.4 shuttle. In his Junior year, Prosise recorded 42 tackles and 7 interceptions.
Prosise is ranked the 29th (3-star) by Scout.com and is unranked by other services.
Prosise's decision was a combination of great academics and big-time football.
With two Cornerbacks and two Safeties, Notre Dame will now hold out for big-time Defensive Backs like Geno Smith (CB), Deon Bush (S), and Shaq Thompson (S).
