Notre Dame picked up three commitments from Ronald Darby, Nicky Baratti and Scott Daly. The Baratti commitment was expected, however, the other two commitments were not. The headliner, of course, is Maryland speedster Ronald Darby. This may be the faster player to commit since Rocket Ismail in the late 1980s. Darby is a legit 4.3 runner who also is standout in Track and Field. It is unclear whether he will play corner or running back. Baratti has committed to play Safety at Notre Dame. Daly has committed as a Long Snapper.
Notre Dame performed very well over the weekend with Wide Receivers Justin Ferguson and Bryce Treggs. Both players were deeply impressed with the school. Will Notre Dame be expecting commitments from these two players any time soon? Ferguson appears to be close, but, it may be hard to pull him away from in-state Florida.
Notre Dame basketball also got in on the action. Eric Katenda visited and will make a decision soon. Notre Dame figures to factor into that decision. Garrick Sherman, current Michigan State player, visited Notre Dame because he is looking to transfer schools. Brey may have secured a commitment from another top-line transfer.
As players begin to digest this huge weekend, more commitments may come. They are not guaranteed but they tend to occur in situations like this. Stay tuned for more updates!
