Lynch Looks Ready For Productive Freshmen Season

At the beginning of Spring practice, we asked the question, "Are Freshman Aaron Lynch and Ishaq Williams ready to make an impact?" After viewing the video of today's 1-on-1 drill at Notre Dame's ninth spring practice, there is no doubt that Aaron Lynch is definitely a dominating force on the defensive line.
Practice highlights: power wins from Irish Illustrated on Vimeo.
In this clip, Lynch absolutely obliterates #74 Christian Lombard and destroys the ball carrier, #25 Jonas Gray. It is difficult to know whether or not Aaron Lynch is soaking up a lot of the defensive playbook but it is our opinion that Aaron Lynch should be able to make an impact very early on. However, according to the coaching staff, Lynch was supposed to engage Lombard and contain the gap. However, he did not. This affirms that he appears to be undisciplined as a football player. He needs to improve technique and pick up the playbook in order to improve his chances of getting on the field frequently. It is also important to note that Andrew Hendrix was one of the ball carriers in this game. Irish fans should really expect to see him in a "change-of-pace" situation this fall in some capacity.
